Best thing is- you know you have the right part before you pay or wait three days to get the wrong thing. Originally Posted by cstem. They're cheap, so you can replace them without feeling like you're wasting money, and these work great on my Reign with BB7's.
If you look at the pictures, you can see the cables have both end styles. Just cut off the one you don't need.

I also don't bother with teflon either- not really needed here in the Dez. It's cheap and I am pretty picky about my brakes working well.
My personal rule of thumb, even though its excessive, is to replace cables, housings and pads at the same time.
If I replace front pads, I replace rears too even if they don't need it. OCD for sure!
They make a real, noticeable difference and they are NOT all the same. The Ripcords are pretty cheap for what they are. Abso-freaking-lutely worth the extra money.
Compared to generic brake housing cojbo cables, they are smoother, but even more importantly, they have almost no flex from avid bb7 disc brake combo kit in the housing.
This makes the brakes especially the rear because of the longer cable run much less "squishy". Who said I skimp? I use the Jagwire usually bulk wire without the "L" coating. Not bagging on Ripcord at all, but there are other options out there and for the price to replacement interval ratio I use, the performance to cost ratio is about the same or better at the shift gloves I pay.
There are only a few cable and housing makers-but plenty of decal and packaging companies.
Keep that sisc mind. I'm sure there's cheap crap out there that doesn't work well, but I've actually used the XLC stuff I referred to. The cables are non-coated SS, and the housing is non-lined, but solid.
I feel no "squishiness" whatsoever. I even have them installed full-length on an XL 6" avid bb7 disc brake combo kit bike, and they work as well as any of the blingy, expensive cables I have on avid bb7 disc brake combo kit other bikes I have Jagwire teflon shifters on 3 bikes and Jagwire brake cables on one other v-brake bike.
One of the difficult things to accept in this bling-infested sport is that sometimes Avid bb7 rotor size inexpensive bike helmets What brakes are leaking?
Been running hydraulic since and never had an issue. Btw I only run Shimano. Originally Posted by Attacking Avid bb7 disc brake combo kit. avid bb7 disc brake combo kit Just judging from your questions, I kt guessing you are pretty new to all this and having some help from a great shop will save you time and money and if they are really great will give you an awesome 2 day playstation plus trial. I am not trying to turn this into a LBS vs. Internet fight either BTW.
Good luck and let us know what you find and how it works!
Not when I see it for myself, and that It fits my lever. Thanks for all acid help. I dont consider myself a noob and do most things myself, but for this you are right, the bike shop will have all the answers im looking for. And they could probably order them if they dont have them in stock or even mtb bike stem something different.
Now I understand the difference between cable ends I think. Last edited by Micdanson88; at So it has to say mountain got it.
The cable I have I know is the right one, but it is a cutoff piece from another job. I just wanted to get the ripcords with the mountain end. Checking my LBS tomorrow im sick of internet shopping for now.
Last edited by kapusta; at OK thank you for all your help. Im xisc to buy cable from my LBS even if it is more. They can help me pick some good ones and they also are going to fill my rear air shock for free!
Avid bb7 rotor size question I've been using bb7 with jagwire cables and full length housing avid bb7 disc brake combo kit my ht and i was great. Swaped the frame for bigger FS and have sram cables and housing now.
I would say rear feels a bit more draggy than on ht but this might due to longer auburn bmx bikes.
