(Wk 21) Joy Is…

Udaipur Moonrise 1… A breathtaking moonrise!

Our amuse-bouche had just been served, when A pointed over to the City Palace with a twinkle in his eye.

A bright light seemed to be glowing from its terrace.

“Is that the…..???”.

I stared in amazed disbelief.

And I somehow recovered my senses enough to grab my camera.

For Maharana Jagat Singh II of the Mewar dynasty and his descendents, this may have been a usual sight. Gazing upon their primary residence being bathed in the glow of the moonlight, whilst relaxing in the royal summer palace, situated in the middle of a lake.

For us, it was one of the most memorable sights of Udaipur.

And while we are talking on views, you just have to take a look outside the window of Madhu’s room in Serengeti.

Over in Richmond, Yvette gives us a beautiful lesson on the true joys of the holiday season.

And for all of you in the Northern hemisphere, yearning for a bit of physical warmth, check out Kim’s happy place in St. Leonards.

P.S. Join along! It is often the simplest of things that give us the greatest pleasure. Write a post capturing some ordinary, yet extraordinary moments that showcase “Joy” and leave a comment or a pingback here. I publish a new post in this series every Tuesday, and will include a link to your blog in next week’s post. Come, and spread the smiles 🙂
